Small Projects er stolt over å presentere utstillingen “Komprimert”.

Det er en stormønstring av nordnorsk kunsthåndverk. Samtidens aktive kunsthåndverkere i Nordland, Troms og Finnmark viser seg her fram. Alle jobber i ulike størrelser og materialer men må her forholde seg til et begrenset format på 30 x 30 x 30 cm. Fagorganisasjonen Norske Kunsthåndverkere Nord-Norge produserer utstillingen for å presenterer sine medlemmer og belyse hva som rører seg på feltet i nord. Utstillingen er koordinert med den nasjonale utstillinga for kunsthåndverk som to uker etterpå åpner ved Nordnorsk kunstmuseum.

Kunsthåndverk er tradisjonelt kunstobjekter med en klar material-forankring og historiske røtter i håndverket. Kunsthåndverkerne har hovedsakelig benyttet materialer som tekstil, keramikk, metall, glass, tre og lær. Dagens kunsthåndverkere har utvidet fagets nedslagsfelt både når det gjelder valg av materialer og teknikker, og lager gjenstander som spenner fra billedkunst til bruksgjenstander.

Small Projects is very proud to present the exhibition “Komprimert”, a big gathering and display of northern Norwegian handicrafts, by some of the most active artisans/artists in the Norwegian counties of Nordland and Troms/Finnmark. This exhibition is a presentation of the members of the organization of North Norwegian Artisans (NKNN) and highlight what is happening in the field in the northern landscape. The exhibition is coordinated with the national exhibition for handicrafts, which opens two weeks later at the North Norwegian Art Museum (NNKM).

Crafts are traditionally art objects with a clear material foundation and historical roots. The artisans have mainly used materials such as textiles, ceramics, metal, glass, wood and leather. Today's artisans have expanded the boundaries and field of application both in terms of choice of materials and techniques, and create objects that range from visual arts to everday objects.
