For this year's Insomnia Festival, Small Projects is presenting An Index of Collisions, a collaborative project by Bergen based artists Roar Sletteland, Thorolf Thuestad and Øystein Nesheim.
An Index of Collisions is an interdisciplinary, collective art project that bring together installation art, music, stage arts, text and film. The core group of the project consist of three people. In addition there are contributors with specifically defined tasks. The project is developed as a slow modular process where a range of components are created independently and presented in varying combinations and constellations as the project evolves.
The project thus consists of " collisions " between formats , expressions , disciplines and aesthetics. The idea is that, when combining these elements without any kind of hierarchy between them, unexpected and interesting results will arise.
More than just a common artistic platform or theme, the foundation of the project is an artistic procedure where form as well as content arises as a result of the combinations or collisions.
So far the project has been presented as exhibitions, concerts as well as a “happening” all of which has created new uses and new meanings to the art elements that have participated.
